this will be my final critique for you for Feedback Frenzy so, here goes :D

firstly, that leaf is MEGA bright and vibrant and I LOVE that.
The square crop works extremely well with this macro shot.
You've used the rule of thirds excellently here by placing the leaf to the top right corner and it creates a very aesthetically pleasing shot although perhaps placing it slightly more to the right in the shot so that the corner is almost in line with the centre vein of the leaf.
You've cut the leaf extremely well with the main 'vein' going right down the centre .. I would've probably made a complete mess of it myself
oh, and the bokeh is beautiful!
A few things could be slightly modified though:-
Although I actually kinda like the dirt on the window in one way I also think it would look lovely without it so perhaps try to get as clean of a window space as possible next time.
Also there is a small space of very harsh white within the bokeh background and it just doesn't look that nice in amongst all the beautiful greens and blues so perhaps the use of the clone tool could work well to blend the greens in and create new bokeh for that area.
Also I think a slightly higher shutter speed could've been used to slightly darken the overall image and then curves tool used to brighten the green and blue tones in the background as they're ever so slightly flat here
All in all though this is lovely and you can tell that this is a nature loving concept, it's a shame that the background tree doesn't also have some lovely autumn tones but overall- BRAVO :D :D

Hi there, I'm catchingfyre and here's your FF critique on behalf of Team #33...

I absolutely love autumn too! The oranges are so vibrant. They definitely represent autumn the best. The slight bokeh is nice in the background, however I really dislike the obvious lack of cleaning on your window. The dust speckles and stains on the window make the photo seem quite unflattering and the photo would be much more gorgeous with a smooth clean window pane.

I had an idea like this once but I thought I'd seen it too often which brings me back to originality, not so original, but you added your own touch of the orange leaf representing autumn so I like that. I like that! Also, the clear thingy you used to attach the heart-leaf to the wall is visible. Another note, is I like how the leaf is darker orange to a light yellow from the bottom to top in terms of the leaf's color.

The composition is okay. It's a nice place to put the heart but I feel as if it could be better. I also like how the blurred tree is in the background. Autumn is mostly about leaves falling off trees so the tree is a good touch however I wish the tree had orange/red/yellow leaves. The green leaves really put me off and make me think: how does the tree represent autumn?

Perhaps some editing would do the photo good. You could add some warmer tones to really give the viewer a feel for autumn. Another point I'd like to point out is your watermark is quite visible and distracting. The font is hard to read in my opinion so if you used simpler fonts and a bit more faded and smaller, then the photo might be a bit more appealing.

This picture caught my eye because I thought I'd seen it before. So again not so original. But overall, nice image, beautiful colorful colors. 7/10 because it's so common but I still like the colors even though they're not very autumn like except for the leaf.

Hi catchingfyre! Thank you very much for your great critique and sorry for the late answer
The dirty window was actually on purpose but I agree with you, next time I'll avoid that :) Unfortunately, before taking this picture, I tried to stick the leaf with adhesive tape, but it didn't work, so I used something different, but that little piece of adhesive tape remained there, I didn't notice it until you pointed it out! Next time I'll be more careful
Actually that is an ever green tree, I chose the background also because I thought it would make a nice contrast with the orange leaf. But I love red trees as well, I will try with them this autumn, if I can :aww:

I had never seen a picture like this before, actually  I don't want to seem a copycat, next time I'll research on the internet if someone has already had my same idea.

I'm glad you liked it, thank you very much for your critique! It means a lot!
Have a nice day!

Hello Tawara753!

Member of Team 21 here to give you Feedback within the :iconfeedbackfrenzy: challenge :)

This is a really nice concept. I love the idea and the bright colour of the leave, giving it a good contrast against the background.

Alltough one could say that maybe it would have been better with a clean window, the dried raindrops remind me that autmn is not only the time of golden leaves, but also a time with a lot of rain.
So in my eyes this is not a bad thing but really a nice detail for the picture.

One thing I would have done maybe is to cut the picture rectangular instead of a square. That way I would have cut the lower part to have a more consistent green background without the brown of the tree and the more blueish-green on the lower part. But that's just how I would have done it, only a suggestion :)

All in all a very beautiful piece, perfect for everyone who loves the autumn
Greetings, Selunia

Critique for FF ^^

I really love the concept! Very creative but simple and well executed. The orange is just beautiful and really stands out against the cooler colours in the background. I'm not sure how I feel about the dirtyish window though. I find it a little distracting, but it does add a little bit of a rainy day autumn feel. The rule of thirds was very nicely executed here and makes this photo very pleasing to the eye. Very simple yet very nicely done! Great work!

Hello, my name is Vanessa and i am one of the four team members from Team 1. in the feedback callenge hosted by #FeedbackFrenzy
I hope that my critique will be helpful for you :aww:

First of all : This photo is really beautiful and i just had to fav it !

The thing that i like the most about this photo is the beautiful colour of the leaf on the window !
You also did a really great job with the cutting of the leaf, the heart is really beautiful.
One more good thing about the heartshaped leaf is the positioning. You followed the rule of thirds really well.
The colours of the background aren't to colourful and make the red and orange tones of the leaf stand out even more.
I also love the fact that the background is blurred enough to creat a nice bokeh but also sharp enouth to notice the tree.
Now some things you could have done better.
First : Cleaning the window. The dirt on the window doesn't look nice and it doesn't take long to clean them. :aww:
Another point is the bokeh in the upper left corner of the photo. The harsh white doesn't look good and stands out a lot !
Maybe you can darken spots like this in a photo editing software the next time.
Another problem is the size of the photo. I think you yould have uploadet a little bit bigger version. This one is really small.
And i don't like watermarks but that can't be helped and is only my personal opinion.

All in all this is a really good photo with a nice concept !
Keep going ! :happybounce:

Hi Vanessa! (You have a beautiful name BTW! :aww:) Thank you so much for your critique, it is helpful indeed! ^^
Haha actually the dirty-ish window was quite intentional, but reading the critiques I noticed it's found distracting, next time I'll clean it :D (That's why critiques are helpful xD)
I totally agree with you, that white spot is an eyesore, I wasn't still very good at photoshop then :XD: (not that I am, now, but I would have darkened it too). And, speaking of the size and the watermark, they're that way because I'm sick of people stealing my pictures. :( I agree with you, they don't help with the quality of the photo, but almost everything in my gallery has that size... :(
Thank you very much for your comment, I'm glad you like the picture and I truly appreciate your critique! :aww: :huggle:

It's an interesting conceptual shot. I've seen leaves cut into valentines before, and yet this shot seems original enough. And it does read as a love for autumn. The first thing that strikes me is the colors. All of the warm colors are in the leaf, whereas the background is entirely cool colors. It looks as though you might have also done some tone correction in the editing. It's nice. Your composition is wonderful, and the bokeh definitely draws focus to the leaf. The only thing I would do differently is wash the window. Those spots kind of ruin the bokeh effect.

Hello, Giulia.
This is a critique that I do for the :iconfeedbackfrenzy: contest

I love autumn as well. It's the season with the most intriguing colours, and I see you've used one of my all time favourites and one which is very very common during autumn. The yellow-ish orange! I would like to start off by saying that the thing which brought me here, was the heart! The highlights are super gorgeous and this is the reason why it stands out. The square frame fits the subject really nicely too.
You've actually been really successful cutting the heart. It looks so symmetrical and straight. I can imagine it's a tough job demanding lots of patience, right? Did it take you several tries to get it right?

I would probably have cut the heart a bit different. The line which moves through the heart, I would have placed so it went directly through the middle of the figure. I think it might have worked out better, but it would probably not have been entirely symmetrical, which I think you achieved here. There is a tremendous focus on the details on the heart. It's actually quite amazing how I from here can see the soft and delicate lines - veins - of the leaf.

However, I do not think the big green and white highlights on each side of the heart are working to your favour. I personally think it would be better with a more even background. What is nice about the background is the bokeh-effect! You've captured that nicely.
I personally would have used a super clean window to take the picture through, but the little dots on the picture actually has its charm! So somehow I think it worked for you this time, since it's an autumn themed picture. It fits nicely :)

Also one last thing, there is a small reflection of the heart in the window. I choose to think it's there because you didn't hit the subject directly, but you chose another angle. I'd try to take a picture directly on it in order to try and eliminate that reflection.

I think this is an original idea; I haven't seen it anywhere else, actually. This picture took me by surprise.
I see in your gallery, that you have many great ideas just waiting to come to life! Please keep taking these pictures, you're really good at it!

Thank you very much!! :glomp: Your critique made me very happy! :happybounce: :D
Cutting the heart wasn't the hardest part actually :) firstly, I drew the outline with a pen, then I carefully cut it trying to not make it appear on the heart... It's just a matter of patience and precision, you have to cut very slowly, however following the outline makes it easier :) I took 2 tries to achieve this result, but it was worth it :D The most difficult part was sticking it to the window glass without adhesive tape or glue :XD:
I totally agree with you with all your critiques, especially on the highlights part. The problem is: that's the only window of my house with a colourful background for the bokeh (it's a pine) and the sunlight filters through the branches D: I need to work out a way to avoid that exagerate light effect :D
Thank you so much for your critique, it was very helpful ^^ I appreciate it a lot! :aww:  Big thanks again!

Wow, you really did do a lot for this picture. I'm impressed :)
And you didn't use tape or anything? How did it stick then? :O
Would you be able to.. well.. make a colourful background on the other windows? Isn't any windows facing the sun when it rises or goes down? Then the colours could be a sunset behind the heart. I actually think it would look beautiful (at least what I'm thinking about in my head). I don't know if it could even be possible!

Hehe it's a secret :XD: no, just kidding :D you know, it was a November day if I remember right. Firstly I tried with tape but it looked horrible, because of the focus on the leaf - you could see it. Then I noticed there was a bit of condensation on the window, because of the cold weather, so I cleaned it from the rest of the glass and left a bit of moisture just behind the leaf, and it sticked on the window :dummy: it's almost magical xDXD
No, unfortunately all the other windows face walls or wire netting or other ugly grey things  I just have to windows that face that tree... I'm sure I will find a different angle to take pictures ^^ Maybe I'll avoid all that light. Your idea is awesome though, in some days I'm leaving to the seaside and maybe in my room I'll have a window facing the sun :la: I'll try that for sure!

I can imagine, that the tape was visible through the thin leaf and that it must have looked weird xD
Hah, your idea was kind of genius, actually! Well, what do you know?.. Moist :D
NO, aw how annoying with the windows! Ugly grey netting and wires.. bummer.
I really hope you can take some by the seaside, I'm sure it will be amazing!

Critique for FF: Who doesn't love autumn? :D And, I must say, this photo reflects this very well!
I love the composition - the leaf heart to the top right and the square composition work very nicely and contrast with the evergreen (I think?) tree in the background, blurred away in a beautiful bokeh effect. I like the dirtiness of the windows too - it adds something to the image - and the exposure seems just right. I can see you increased your colour saturation and vibrance, but not in a way that makes the viewer blink at the brightness of it all. The colour scheme looks pleasing to the eye, almost soothing, like autumn itself. :)
You have left me without any negative comments or criticisms to make (a very rare deed!) so all I can say to you now is: keep shooting!
